StressWeek2K15

My wedding dress is here - 3 months early! I got the phone call from Bernie at Perfect Day on Wednesday and she asked me to come in and collect it the following evening.  Seeing as my Mum and Sister have decided to be total dingbats as of late, I had to venture out to Lurgan on my own to pick it up.  A bittersweet moment, twirling around in front of the fitting room mirror on my own. Thanks to Sober October I couldn't even accept the champagne I was offered, so I got to take a bottle home to celebrate with in November.

This week has been the very first week where things have started to go wrong.  To be honest, it's been other people's issues rather than ours but it's added stress that we shouldn't have to deal with so late on in the plans.  I've met various people on numerous trips to Costa throughout this week to listen to drama and straighten out issues and it's been tough to deal with.  There have been tears and tantrums (the very first since planning started) and it's been really disheartening.  Adding insult to injury, our flights home from Vegas were cancelled so we had to rework our itinerary and our plans in order to fit around new flights (we get an extra day in Vegas though so every cloud etc...) Invitations are in the process of being sent out - we're hand delivering the majority of them so we're currently doing the rounds - and as long as everyone makes the effort to RSVP we'll be happy campers.

It's about time that a bad week came along, so we're hoping that next week will be brighter.
This week has shown me who really has our backs when things start to go wrong - it's been an eye opener for sure - it's always the people you least expect! Michael has officially caught the lurgy so he's out of action with a bad case of Man Flu.  I expect to be dosed up myself any minute now!  Been trying to keep my distance, but this week we've been extra soppy and clingy to each other! #woeisus

In happy news though, we applied for our US Visa Waivers today (accepted, woo!) as well as our Marriage License through the City Clerks Office in Manhattan, New York. It's exactly 70 days until we fly out to America and it just cannot come quick enough!  We've spent this weekend catching up with Michael's parents which has been lovely - lots of tea and cakes which always cheers us up :) Sober October is going well, I'm enjoying being the designated driver and haven't even minded going to bars etc.  The lack of 0% beers and wines is annoying though so it's been a toss up between Diet Cokes and Water for me! I've a collection of wines, spirits and champagnes to get stuck into at Midnight on Halloween night - I may just have to throw a party in celebration!
